Wavee

Eight audio tools on your own PC, and seconds instead of minutes.

  • Eight tools in one app
  • Seconds on a graphics card
  • No credits per run

Wavee is a little audio studio for your PC. Take the vocals out of a song, split it into vocals, drums and bass, change the key without changing the speed, or find out the key and BPM in a second.

Everything runs on your own computer, on the graphics card if you have one, so nothing is uploaded and no run costs credits. Wavee is in beta for Premium and Ultra members.

Is Wavee safe?

Yes. Wavee does what this page describes and nothing more: it only shares your sign-in with yumee.org, nothing runs until you press a button, and every update is checked against its fingerprint before it replaces anything. You can remove it any time in Settings, Apps.

Then why does a scanner complain?

Because it is new. An app without a paid code-signing certificate starts with no reputation, and a few scanners distrust any unknown program that comes as one file and installs and updates itself. That is a guess from the shape of the file, not something harmful found in it, and it fades as more people use the app.

What the scanners notice in Wavee

  • One file: the whole app (about 140 MB) is packed into a single .exe by .NET single-file publishing (build.ps1, PublishSingleFile). Scanners see a small starter with a large "overlay" they cannot look inside.
  • Not signed yet: without a code-signing certificate Windows cannot show who made it, so its reputation starts at zero.
  • Installs itself: on its first start it copies itself to %LocalAppData%\Programs\Wavee and adds a Start menu shortcut and a Settings, Apps entry (YumeeInstall.cs).
  • Updates itself: it downloads the new version from yumee.org, checks its size and SHA-256, and swaps the file (YumeeUpdate.cs).
  • Sets up helpers: the first start downloads pinned tools (Python, ffmpeg) from their official sites, checks each one against a SHA-256, and starts a local helper process (SetupSteps.cs, EngineProcess.cs).

Windows stopped it. What now?

On the blue SmartScreen screen choose More info, then Run anyway. If Defender moved it to quarantine, restore it in Windows Security, Protection history, once you have checked the fingerprint below.

How do I know my file is the real one?

Compare its fingerprint. In PowerShell, Get-FileHash on the downloaded file must print exactly this:

SHA-256 of Wavee-4.2.7.exe 21f4948b803c3547800c2c706e86ed1524df1ee199faaaf25d9326ac88cd3c19

Why you'll love Wavee

  • Vocal remover

The vocals and the backing track as two clean files, in seconds on a graphics card.

  • Stem splitter

Vocals, drums, bass and everything else, each on its own. Mute one and play along.

  • Karaoke night

A guide vocal you fade in or out, backing vocals if you want them, your own key and tempo. What you hear is what you save.

  • Pitch & tempo

Up to twelve semitones up or down, half to double speed, one without the other, and voices still sound like voices.

  • Key & BPM

The tempo, the first beat and the key, plus how sure it is. It's an estimate, and it tells you so.

  • Cut, join, record

Trim with fades, stitch takes together with a crossfade, or record straight from your microphone.

Your songs, your PC, and a lot more fun with the music you already have.

How it goes

  1. Install it and sign in with Yumee

The first start sets up what Wavee needs on your PC, once. Wavee is in beta and needs the Premium plan.

  2. Drop a song

Any audio format or the sound of a video from your PC, up to thirty minutes.

  3. Listen, then save

Separated tracks and edited audio play right there and save as WAV, MP3 or FLAC.

What it costs

Included in the Premium plan.

Plans and credit packs

What it needs

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
  • Any recent graphics card makes separation fast (NVIDIA, AMD or Intel); without one the processor does it, slower
  • About 170 MB for the parts it sets up for you the first time; each tool fetches what it needs the first time you use it (64 MB for the vocal remover)
  • A Yumee account on the Premium plan while Wavee is in beta — no credits are spent

Download it and open it once: it installs itself, with a shortcut in the Start menu and on the desktop. Sign in with your Yumee account and it gets what it needs with one progress bar. It keeps itself up to date, and your files stay on your PC.

What's new in Wavee

  1. Version 4.2.7

    • Wavee stays signed in when the connection drops for a moment, instead of asking you to sign in again
    • If a new version cannot be downloaded right now, Wavee offers to open as it is so your songs are not kept waiting
    • When your sign-in on this PC has really ended, Wavee says so in one sentence and takes you straight to signing in
  2. Version 4.2.6

    • Wavee now spots a new version within 15 minutes while it is open, instead of hours later
  3. Version 4.2.5

    • Wavee moves like any Windows app: drag the empty top of the window, over the tools list too
    • A small version number next to the Wavee name tells you which build you have
  4. Version 4.2.4

    • When a song cannot be opened or split, Wavee now tells you in one plain sentence, with nothing technical underneath
    • Advanced lists what each tool has downloaded by the tool's name, such as Vocal remover or Stem splitter
    • The first-time setup speaks plain words too
  5. Version 4.2.3

    • The Wavee icon in the Start menu, on the desktop and on a taskbar pin is refreshed when a new version arrives
Earlier versions
  1. Version 4.2.2

    • A garbled reply from a busy or blocked connection no longer lets Wavee open or fetch its first-time files before your Premium access is checked
    • A Wavee update cut off by a blocked connection now says the connection was the problem, not your plan
  2. Version 4.2.1

    • A new icon for Wavee, from the Start menu to the tray
  3. Version 4.2.0

    • Wavee now works only with audio and video files on your PC; pasting links is gone
    • A smaller download the first time you open Wavee
  4. Version 4.1.0

    • The first time you open it, Wavee installs itself and adds a Start menu shortcut and an uninstall entry
    • Wavee fetches each new version by itself when you open it
    • Plainer messages: Wavee says what is happening without naming the programs behind it
    • The technical details, like where splitting runs, wait under Advanced at the foot of the menu
    • When something goes wrong, the message says it in plain words; the details are one click away
  5. Version 4.0.0

    • Wavee is now a Windows app: splitting a song takes seconds on the graphics card, and runs on any PC without one
    • Paste a link instead of choosing a file (removed again in 4.2.0); files still work, and so does the sound of a video
    • Karaoke saves the guide vocal at the level you set, and can keep the backing vocals in the track
    • Pitch and tempo sound cleaner, with an option to keep a voice natural
    • Save as WAV, MP3 or FLAC
  6. Version 3.0.0

    • Picking an MP3 on a phone works
    • The eight tools sit in a lighter side menu, with a status line while a song is being split
    • The app and the parts it downloads now load only for accounts that can use Wavee
  7. Version 2.0.0

    • Songs the browser will not open directly are decoded another way
    • Opening a song takes about half the memory, which helps on phones
  8. Version 1.0.0

    • Vocal remover: split a song into vocals and the backing track
    • Stem splitter: vocals, drums, bass and the rest
    • Pitch and tempo, key and BPM, cutter, joiner, recorder and karaoke
    • Everything runs in your browser: your audio is never uploaded

Questions about Wavee

Is my song uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything is computed on your PC. The internet only fetches what each tool needs, the first time.

How long does a split take?

With a graphics card a whole song takes seconds. Without one the processor does the work: a few minutes on an ordinary laptop, and everything still works.

How good is the separation?

It is very good at vocals and a backing track. Busy mixes can leave a trace of one in the other; "Best quality" goes over the song twice to reduce it.

Is there still a browser version?

No. Wavee moved to Windows in 4.0: a graphics card makes it many times faster. The old address now leads here.
