For photo and video

Framee

A whole card dump, sorted before dinner.

  • Your footage stays on your PC
  • Every move can be undone
  • Video and photos in one go

Meet Framee, the friend who happily looks through every clip and photo on the card so you don't have to. Point it at the folder your camera filled and it rates each shot on the things you would check yourself: focus, light, a steady hand, a face with its eyes open.

Your best shots come up first. You make the calls, and Framee does the tidying up.

45 of 48 scanners found nothing in version 3.12.1

Microsoft Defender: clean

The 3 that did not guess from how the file is packed, not from anything they found inside (see below). The report shows the name each one gives.

Open the full VirusTotal report

Is Framee safe?

Yes. Framee does what this page describes and nothing more: it only shares your sign-in with yumee.org, nothing runs until you press a button, and every update is checked against its fingerprint before it replaces anything. You can remove it any time in Settings, Apps.

Then why does a scanner complain?

Because it is new. An app without a paid code-signing certificate starts with no reputation, and a few scanners distrust any unknown program that comes as one file and installs and updates itself. That is a guess from the shape of the file, not something harmful found in it, and it fades as more people use the app.

What the scanners notice in Framee

  • One file: the whole app (about 140 MB) is packed into a single .exe by .NET single-file publishing (build.ps1, PublishSingleFile). Scanners see a small starter with a large "overlay" they cannot look inside.
  • Not signed yet: without a code-signing certificate Windows cannot show who made it, so its reputation starts at zero.
  • Installs itself: on its first start it copies itself to %LocalAppData%\Programs\Framee and adds a Start menu shortcut and a Settings, Apps entry (YumeeInstall.cs).
  • Updates itself: it downloads the new version from yumee.org, checks its size and SHA-256, and swaps the file (YumeeUpdate.cs).
  • Sets up helpers: the first start downloads pinned tools (Python, ffmpeg) from their official sites, checks each one against a SHA-256, and starts a local helper process (SetupSteps.cs, EngineProcess.cs).

Windows stopped it. What now?

On the blue SmartScreen screen choose More info, then Run anyway. If Defender moved it to quarantine, restore it in Windows Security, Protection history, once you have checked the fingerprint below.

How do I know my file is the real one?

Compare its fingerprint. In PowerShell, Get-FileHash on the downloaded file must print exactly this:

SHA-256 of Framee-3.12.1.exe b67bb0b3c35205a8d5c376ac52e563061f2a31c03314e5d1541e1a62867eac54

Why you'll love Framee

  • Video and photos, side by side

Clips, RAW files, JPEGs and HEICs from the same card, culled in one sitting. A RAW and its JPEG always move together.

  • A second pair of eyes

Clips are rated on focus, look and steadiness, photos on light, composition and focus. The best rise to the top, and you can see why.

  • The duds go first, for free

Black frames, lens-cap shots, one-second accidents and blank photos are sorted out on your PC before anything costs a credit.

  • You're the boss

Keep, Maybe or Delete is always your call. A score never moves a file, and anything you leave undecided stays right where it was.

  • Oops-proof

Changed your mind? Undo puts the last batch back where it came from. Nothing is ever deleted, only moved into folders inside the shoot.

  • One-clip for long takes

Filmed a whole repair or build in one go? Framee finds the stretches where something happens, says what each one is, and you trim and export.

Less scrolling through hundreds of files, more time with the shots you are proud of.

How a run goes

  1. Pick the shoot folder

The card dump as it came off the camera, photos too. Framee writes only inside it.

  2. Let it read the clips

Frames, contact sheets, the free pre-filter, then the scoring pass. You see the price before it starts.

  3. Cull

Keep, Maybe or Delete per clip or photo, with the scores and the filmstrip in front of you.

  4. Move and report

The files land in cull/, a report is written beside them, and the undo is one command away.

What it costs

  • Cull a clip (Quick) 1 credit / clip
  • Cull a clip (Balanced) 2 credits / clip
  • Cull a clip (Thorough) 4 credits / clip
  • Compare a whole shoot 5 credits / shoot
  • ULTRAVIEW: cull a clip (Quick) 3 credits / clip
  • ULTRAVIEW: cull a clip (Balanced) 6 credits / clip
  • ULTRAVIEW: cull a clip (Thorough) 12 credits / clip
  • Judge a One-clip stretch 2 credits / stretch
  • Review a One-clip recording 3 credits / recording
  • Cull photos (Quick) 1 credit / 4 photos
  • Cull photos 1 credit / 2 photos
  • Cull photos (Thorough) 2 credits / 2 photos
  • Compare the photos of a shoot 3 credits / 100 photos
  • ULTRAVIEW: cull photos (Quick) 3 credits / 4 photos
  • ULTRAVIEW: cull photos 3 credits / 2 photos
  • ULTRAVIEW: cull photos (Thorough) 6 credits / 2 photos

Every app shows the price before it starts, and work that fails is refunded on its own.

Plans and credit packs

What it needs

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
  • A Yumee account — the app signs in once and stays signed in
  • About 300 MB for the parts it sets up for you the first time, each one checked before it is used
  • Reads what your camera writes: MP4, MOV, MXF, RAW, JPEG, HEIC

Download it and open it once: it installs itself, with a shortcut in the Start menu and on the desktop. Sign in with your Yumee account and it gets what it needs with one progress bar. It keeps itself up to date, and your files stay on your PC.

What's new in Framee

  1. Version 3.12.1

    • The scroll bar is gone from screens that fit the window: it appears only when there is more to see below
  2. Version 3.12.0

    • A new start for Cull and One-clip: one bar to choose or paste a folder, with your recent shoots and recordings right under it
    • Every recent shoot shows its picture, how many photos and clips are culled and when you last worked on it
    • The keyboard opens a shoot: arrows move through the list, Enter opens, Ctrl+O chooses a folder, Ctrl+V pastes a path
    • A path pasted with quotes around it, as Windows copies it, opens straight away
  3. Version 3.11.3

    • The best photo of a stack always leads it: the highest score is the one shown, and the others fold behind it
    • A photo inside a stack that you mark Keep or Maybe comes out of the fold and stands in the review as its own card
    • Inside an opened stack and in the side-by-side view, photos are in order from best to weakest
  4. Version 3.11.2

    • Each angle ends as one stack: a subject shot again a moment later with another crop or from a step away is recognised as the same picture
    • The best frames of a shoot are compared with the ones taken just before and after them, not only with frames that look alike
    • Two views stay two pictures: a close view and a wide one, or two different expressions, are not joined when compared
  5. Version 3.11.1

    • One picture, one Keep: frames of the same shot that differ only by a step or a little zoom end in one stack, not as several Keeps side by side
    • Look-alikes are compared once more, best against best, so stacks that turn out to be one picture are joined
    • More reshot frames are recognised as worth comparing, such as a slightly tighter take of the same wide shot
Earlier versions
  1. Version 3.11.0

    • The same picture taken again a few seconds later is recognised: its frames sit in one stack under the best one
    • Yumee AI compares look-alike photos side by side and keeps one; the others are marked Copy or Alternate and say which photo they stand behind
    • A score now says only how good the photo is: identical frames score the same, a copy is set aside as Delete, an alternate waits as a Maybe
    • The best photo of a stack is always its strongest frame, never a weaker one or one marked as a near copy
    • Look-alikes are found reliably in dark and night shoots, where different framings used to be mixed into one stack
  2. Version 3.10.1

    • A shoot in a folder with a % in its name ("50% promo") is read properly: every clip is judged on all its frames again
    • Your credits are safe when you open a shoot folder from someone else: what a cull costs is kept on this PC, never read from the folder
    • Undo, and taking Framee's ratings back out of Lightroom, only ever touch files Framee itself changed
    • When the day's Yumee AI limit is reached, the cull stops with a plain message and keeps everything judged so far
  3. Version 3.10.0

    • One-clip opens again: taking a long recording apart works as it should, and its clip list can be saved as a file
    • Move files and Undo are safer: a file that is open in another program stays where it is and stays on record, and a crash in the middle loses track of nothing
    • A new card dropped into a folder you already culled is judged from scratch: its files never take over the calls made on older files with the same names
    • A very long clip or an odd file no longer stops a whole cull: that one item says why in plain words and the rest carries on
    • Pressing the keys quickly marks each item once, the review keeps following a run after a hiccup, and the Report opens inside Framee
  4. Version 3.9.4

    • A shoot can be removed from the list in the rail: point at it and press the cross
    • Removing only tidies the list: the folder, its photos and clips and every call you made stay as they are, and Undo puts the shoot back
  5. Version 3.9.3

    • ULTRAVIEW is now part of the Premium and Ultra plans; on Free and Lite its button says so and links to the plans
    • Every other cull, at every level, works exactly as before on every plan
  6. Version 3.9.2

    • ULTRAVIEW builds on the normal judgement: extra opinions can catch a fault and lower a score, but never lift an ordinary photo or clip into Keep
    • The final ULTRAVIEW call looks at the photos and clips itself before settling a disagreement, and its reason always matches the verdict
    • The whole-shoot comparison can no longer move a photo or clip up into a better verdict than its own judgement gave
  7. Version 3.9.1

    • Back from a large photo or clip, the wall no longer keeps that card lit up as if it were still selected
  8. Version 3.9.0

    • A new review: the shoot's name on top, what Yumee AI thought of the shoot in one line, and a wall of pictures with only the score and the call on each
    • Keep, Maybe and Delete come up on a picture when you point at it, with its file name underneath
    • An opened photo or clip is large, beside it the score, the main scores as bars and the three calls with their keys; the rest of the shoot runs below
    • Compare a photo with its near copies straight from the large view
    • The shoots in the side panel say when you last worked on them
  9. Version 3.8.2

    • Deselect all sits next to Accept all AI verdicts and takes back every call you have not moved yet
    • Keyboard shortcuts open from a small keyboard button, so the whole toolbar stays on one row
  10. Version 3.8.1

    • Zoom the finished cull in and out: the size control in the toolbar, the minus and plus keys, or Ctrl and the mouse wheel
    • At the smallest sizes a card shows just the photo, its score and the three verdicts, so a whole shoot fits on screen
  11. Version 3.8.0

    • A calmer review: the Keep, Maybe and Delete figures are the filters, and one toolbar holds the rest
    • Near copies stack behind their best shot on their own; one click shows the rest
    • Photos fill their cards in the shape your shoot has, and each card shows only what helps you decide
    • Send to Lightroom and the report sit together under Export
  12. Version 3.7.2

    • Raw photos are judged on a quick neutral development, so a flat camera profile no longer reads as a bad exposure
    • Framee reads the capture time, camera and lens straight from raw files, so bursts of raw photos are found
    • Raw photos look in Framee like they do after a first import, not like the flat preview inside the file
  13. Version 3.7.1

    • From the next update on, Framee downloads only what changed instead of the whole app, and checks the result as strictly as before
  14. Version 3.7.0

    • Before every cull Framee asks how closely to look, for photos too, and suggests the level that fits this shoot
    • Thorough on photos sends a full-resolution crop of each subject, so focus is judged on real pixels, raw files included
    • Quick on photos costs half of Balanced; Thorough costs twice as much for the closest look
  15. Version 3.6.0

    • Framee judges like a working photographer: low-key light, night, shooting through foreground and tilted angles count as choices
    • The same photo gets the same verdict: the verdict follows the score, and the whole-shoot pass moves a score only a little
    • Photos downloaded or copied together are no longer taken for a burst
    • Send to Lightroom puts ratings, colour labels and rejects next to your raw files; ratings you gave in Lightroom stay
  16. Version 3.5.1

    • Framee judges much harder: a Keep must be sharp, well lit and worth delivering, and most ordinary frames now land in Maybe or Delete
    • The reasons get to the point: why a photo or clip goes comes first, with no praise it has not earned
    • A Keep that is too soft, too dark or too weak is held at Maybe, and the card says why
  17. Version 3.5.0

    • ULTRAVIEW: three judges look at every clip and photo on their own, and one final call weighs all three, for three times the credits
    • Cards judged this way carry an ULTRAVIEW mark, and Advanced view shows how each judge called it
    • Framee now looks for a new version every 15 minutes while it is open, and tells you at once when Yumee asks for the update before a cull
  18. Version 3.4.3

    • Grab Framee anywhere along the top of its window to move it, beside the wordmark and above your shoots included
    • The Framee wordmark shows which version you are running
  19. Version 3.4.2

    • When many people cull at the same moment, Framee waits its turn and carries on instead of stopping the cull
    • Framee sends only as many clips and photos at once as your plan judges together, so a cull no longer runs out of its paid judgements half way
  20. Version 3.4.1

    • Portraits are no longer marked down for closed eyes when the eyes are open
    • Photos taken a moment apart of the same scene are recognised as one burst more often, so you pick the best frame instead of sorting near copies
    • Shoot comparisons and One-clip reviews read your Slovak descriptions properly
  21. Version 3.4.0

    • Every shoot you have culled is now listed on the left, under Cull and One-clip, with its folder name and how many photos and clips are culled
    • Each shoot shows where it stands: not culled yet, culling with live progress, finished, or stopped part way
    • Cull several shoots at once: switch to another shoot while one is still culling, and Framee tells you when the one in the background is done
    • One click on a shoot opens it, straight into its results or its running cull
  22. Version 3.3.0

    • Framee now explains each clip and photo the way an editor friend would: what happens in it, what works, what holds it back
    • A new "Try this" note suggests where to cut in and out, what to trim or how to fix a photo
    • Before judging, Framee measures the sharpness of every moment on the full-size footage, so soft and shaky clips are caught more reliably
    • Search now also finds clips and photos by what happens in them
  23. Version 3.2.3

    • After an update, the Framee shortcuts in the Start menu, on the desktop and on the taskbar show the new icon instead of an old saved one
  24. Version 3.2.2

    • Framee confirms your account before every start; a garbled reply from a blocked connection no longer lets it open or start its first download
    • When Yumee can't be reached, Framee opens if it confirmed your account in the past three days, and otherwise asks you to connect
  25. Version 3.2.1

    • Framee has a new icon: find it in the taskbar and the Start menu
  26. Version 3.2.0

    • Light, composition and focus now show on every photo without the advanced view
    • Clips show focus, look and steadiness at a glance too
    • Culling photos costs half as much: one credit for every two photos
    • Comparing all the photos of a shoot costs less
  27. Version 3.1.0

    • Framee now culls photos too: for each folder, choose photos, videos or both
    • Photos are checked for sharp faces, closed eyes, blur and light, then judged by Yumee AI
    • Bursts and near copies are grouped, with the best photo of each on top
    • Every photo and clip gets a category and tags you can filter by
    • RAW and JPEG pairs move together, and every move can still be undone
  28. Version 3.0.0

    • Yumee AI's reasons and the shoot report are written in your language
    • Drag the Framee window by its top bar, snap it to an edge or resize it again
    • Fixed: clips were judged from a single frame
    • Only an account that can cull with Framee can download it from yumee.org
  29. Version 2.1.0

    • Framee is now a Windows app: it sets up what it needs the first time you open it
    • Yumee AI is paid with credits: nothing extra to install or set up
    • See your credits and what a run costs before you start it
    • Pick folders with the normal Windows dialog
    • The first-start setup skips anything this PC already has
  30. Version 2.0.0

    • New One-clip page: turn one long recording into the clips worth keeping
    • A free first pass finds the stretches with movement and sound
    • AI says what each stretch is: action, explaining, a failure or the result
    • Trim, split, merge and rename clips, then export them or join them into one file
    • One-clip only writes new files: nothing you already had is moved or deleted
  31. Version 1.2.0

    • Framee asks for your Yumee account before a cull
    • Undo the last batch of moves even when you cannot sign in
    • A fresh look for the culling screens
  32. Version 1.1.0

    • Filter box, bulk selection and a filmstrip for big shoots
    • Choose how closely each clip is looked at: Thorough, Balanced or Quick
    • Clips can be judged on your own graphics card, set up with one button
    • Twelve local options to choose from, three of them recommended (Yumee AI took over in 2.1.0)
  33. Version 1.0.0

    • Scores every clip of a shoot on six dimensions from frames taken across the clip
    • You decide Keep, Maybe or Delete, and Framee moves the clips into a cull folder, with undo
    • Keyboard culling: arrows to move, K, M and D to decide
    • A report of every shoot

Questions about Framee

Does my footage get uploaded?

No. Clips and photos stay in the folder they came from. When Yumee AI looks at a clip, it gets a small contact sheet and nothing else — no file, no audio, no path; a photo goes as a 1024 px copy. Nothing is stored after the answer comes back.

What if it gets a clip wrong?

A score never moves a file. Only your Keep / Maybe / Delete does, and a clip you left undecided is never touched. If a whole batch went wrong, one command puts the last move back.

What does a cull cost?

Credits per clip that reaches Yumee AI, at the price shown on this page. Clips the free pre-filter throws out and clips already scored cost nothing, and a run that scores nothing is refunded in full. Photos are charged the same way.

How big a shoot can it take?

It is built around five hundred clips a shoot. Bigger dumps work as well; they just take longer to read.
