Terms

The deal

The few things worth agreeing on before you make an account or buy something, in plain words.

What this is

Yumee is a set of apps and one account that opens them. By making an account you accept these terms and our privacy notice. Questions go to contact@yumee.org.

Your account

You need to be 18 or older. One account is for one person: anything done while signed in as you counts as done by you, so use a password you use nowhere else and keep it to yourself. If you signed up with a handle and no e-mail address, nobody can take the account from you, and nobody can give it back either.

You can stop at any time: ask us and we delete the account and everything that belongs to it. How is on the support page.

How the apps are provided

We work hard for the apps to do what they describe, and we are liable for their defects as the law sets out (see When something does not work). Beyond that we give no promises: the apps can have an off day, and the service can be down now and then.

What you choose to change or move with an app is your decision. Optee changes Windows settings you pick and Framee moves files you mark; both can undo their own changes, and both ask before anything important happens. Keep your own copy of anything that would hurt to lose. Nothing here takes away the rights the law gives you as a consumer.

Scores, titles, hashtags and listing texts are made with Yumee AI and can be wrong, so check them before you publish anything.

Using it fairly

Please do not:

  • overload the service or try to take it down;
  • create accounts automatically or in bulk;
  • try to reach other people's data or get around the limits of an account;
  • use anything here to attack, harass or defraud anybody;
  • resell access to anything.

If an account breaks these rules, we warn first, except where the account is used for fraud or an attack, or the law requires us to act at once. If we close an account you were not at fault for, we refund the unused part of any plan you paid for. If you think we closed yours by mistake, tell us and we will look again.

What you make stays yours

Everything you put into an app (footage, photos, recordings, transcripts, listings) stays yours, and so does everything the apps make from it. We get no licence to your content. The apps work on your computer, and the little that goes through us for an AI step is passed on and not kept. The one exception is what you ask Vintee to keep: when you press Mark as listed, a short summary of that item and one small preview picture are stored in your account until you remove the item or delete the account (the privacy notice says exactly what).

Paying for things

Most apps open with a free Yumee account, Optee included; the Yutee and Wavee betas open with Premium or Ultra. Work that uses Yumee AI (judging clips, reading still frames, writing a listing) costs credits, and every app shows the price before it starts. Work that fails gives its credits back; if you cancel a job, you pay only for the part already done.

Credits come three ways: a one-time welcome amount once your e-mail is confirmed, a monthly amount with the paid plans (Lite, Premium and Ultra), and credit packs. Plan credits last until the end of the month they came with. Bought credits never expire. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred to another account; they are not refunded as money, except where the law or these terms say otherwise.

Plans are paid for a month at a time; Premium and Ultra can also be paid for three months or a year (the longer terms cost less). A plan renews at the end of each term until you cancel it in the billing portal; a cancelled plan runs to the end of the term already paid. Whatever the term, the plan's credits arrive every month.

Now and then we run an offer: bonus credits with a plan, or a lower price for its first payment. Where an offer is shown it says what it gives, who it is for and when it ends. One offer counts per purchase and each offer once per account. Bonus credits of an offer come with the first month's plan credits and last as long as they do; if the plan is refunded or you withdraw from it, they go with it. A lower first price applies to that first payment only; the plan then renews at its regular price.

A beta is an early version of an app, open to the plans its page names while it is being finished. It can change a lot before it is released, and it may be retired instead; a beta is never sold on its own, only as part of a plan.

Prices are on the pricing page and include VAT where it applies. They can change; a change never touches what you already bought, and a plan you pay for renews at a new price only after we have told you by e-mail at least 30 days before. Payments are handled by Stripe. After every purchase we send you a confirmation by e-mail.

Changing your mind

Credit packs are digital content, delivered the moment the payment goes through. Before you pay, you tick a box asking for them to be delivered straight away and confirming that you then lose the fourteen-day right of withdrawal. Once the credits are on your account that right has ended, as EU consumer law allows, and the confirmation e-mail repeats it. On top of that we refund a pack in full within 14 days of buying it, as long as your bought credits have not dropped below the number that pack added since you bought it (plan credits are spent first; see Refunds).

Plans are a service. You can withdraw from a plan within fourteen days of buying it, without giving a reason: press Withdraw from contract here on your Credits page (it is there for the whole fourteen days), or write to contact@yumee.org. You get a confirmation by e-mail straight away. Because you asked for the plan to start at once, you get the price back less the part for the days it already ran, within fourteen days, to the way you paid; the plan credits that came with it are taken back.

You may also use the model withdrawal form below, but you do not have to. The button on your Credits page is easier and gets you a confirmation at once.

When something does not work

We are liable for defects of what we provide: for a plan, throughout the time you pay for it; for credits, for two years after you bought them. We keep every app updated, security updates included, for as long as your plan runs.

If something does not work as described, write to contact@yumee.org and say what happened. We confirm your complaint by e-mail, deal with it within 30 days, and if we cannot agree with you, we tell you why in writing and where you can turn next (see below). Work that failed inside an app usually gives its credits back on its own.

Apps come and go

We add apps, rename, rebuild or retire them, and features arrive and occasionally leave. If a change makes a paid plan clearly worse (for example fewer credits, or an app it includes taken away), we tell you by e-mail in advance, and you can end the plan with a refund for the unused part of the term.

If we retire an app, we say so in advance. A retired app stops working once its access ends: straight away online, and on a computer that is offline at the latest when its last check with your account runs out, within three days. If you pay for a plan that included the app, you can then end the plan with a refund for the unused part of the term. Unused credits stay on your account for the other apps.

Law and disputes

Slovak law applies to these terms. That does not take away any protection the law of the country where you live gives you as a consumer. You can bring a claim in the courts where you live, and we can bring one against you only there.

If we cannot settle a complaint together, you can, as a consumer, ask an alternative dispute resolution body to help, for free or for a small fee: in Slovakia the Slovak Trade Inspection (Slovenská obchodná inšpekcia, soi.sk), or another body on the list kept by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic (economy.gov.sk).

These terms

When these terms change, the date at the top changes. If a change matters to a plan you pay for, we e-mail you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel with a refund for the unused part of the term. Earlier versions stay readable here.
